International Taekwon‑Do Federation
On the weekend of 25th & 26th March 2023, the Czech Taekwon‑Do Federation held an ITF International Instructor Course, conducted by Grand Master Prof. Hwang Ho Yong (9th Degree), chairman of the ITF Technical and Education Committee and ITF Senior Vice President, with the help of his assistants and translators Master Martin Zamecnik (7th Degree) and Master Ondrej Vrabel (7th Degree). The course was held on the online platform Zoom, presenting a unique opportunity for all countries of the world to participate and learn the original Korean Taekwon‑Do.
The first two sessions (Saturday morning and afternoon) were devoted to a thorough explanation of the Duties and Role of Instructor, Classification of Instructors, Philosophy of Taekwon‑Do, Tenets of Taekwon‑Do, Moral Culture, Student/Instructor Relationship, History of Taekwon‑Do, Traning secrets of Taekwon‑Do, Composition of Taekwon‑Do, Regulations and Conduct in Dojang, etc. The third session (Sunday morning) was focused on proper training methods, how to lead a class, how to give commands, and the proper procedures for pre-arranged sparring. In the final, examination session (Sunday afternoon), Grand Master Hwang tested 21 prospective International Instructors who had to answer three questions from all topics covered by the course. I am happy to report that all 21 applicants passed the exam.
The course was attended by a total of 78 participants from Bosna and Herzegovina, Canada, Czechia, Finland, Greece, Grenada, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Malaysia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and the USA.
From 26th to 28th May 2023, another ITF International Technical Seminar conducted by Grand Master Prof. Hwang Ho Yong will take place in Prague, the capital city of Czechia. You are all cordially invited to train with GM Hwang in person.
