Greenland Taekwon‑Do Federation celebrated 40th Anniversary of its foundation.

Greenland Taekwon‑Do Federation celebrated the colourful 40th Anniversary of its foundation on the occasion of the National Taekwon‑Do Championships from 11th Oct.-13th Oct.2019 in Nuuk, Greenland.

Prof. Ri Yong Son, ITF President, Master Kim Chol Gyu, ITF Finance and Administration Director, Grand Master Jung Woo Jin, chief editor of Taekwon‑Do Times from USA, Grand Master George Vitale were invited as Honorary Guests to this meaningful event.

From Greenland, there were honoured to be invited also Hon. Kim Kielsen, Greenland Prime Minister, Mr.Vittus Quiaukitsoq, Greenland Finance Minister, Doris Jakobsen Jensen, Greenland Parliament member, Mr. Nuka Kleemann, Greenland Sports Committee Chairman and other VIPs at the closing ceremony.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. Ri Yong Son, ITF President and Hon. Kim Kielsen, Greenland Prime Minister made the congratulatory speeches.

Taekwon‑Do started in Greenland from 1979 by Grand Master Leong Wai Meng, one of ITF pioneers in a harsh weather conditions of the far northern region.

Grand Master Leong Wai Meng, made a tremendous exploit to the charity service as well as Taekwon‑Do development in Greenland.

Now Greenland sees ITF Taekwon‑Do activities in almost every towns, no other martial arts and Greenland Taekwon‑Do Federation enjoys a full financial and administrational support from Greenland government.

In October, Next year in Qaqotoq, Greenland, GTF host its national Championships and they are happy to meet many ITF Taekwon‑Do brothers and sisters from other countries.
